EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

CHILD CARE CENTERS

With generous support from Manos Unidas, DSC runs 6 Child Care Centres to provide quality education for Tribal and other girls and boys in Dharni Block in Amravati, Maharashtra 170 children benefit from this project .Regular attendance, regular medical check-ups and nutritional food supply to check malnutrition are done.

PRIMARY EDUCATION
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Schooling of tribal children – Tribal children are sent to Boarding for quality education. 90% of hostel fees of all these students are met by the Organization by receiving fund by an individual benefactor.10% of the fees are met by their parents

Many young girls are continuing professional courses in their General Nursing in St Ann’s School of Nursing, Vijayawada. The beneficiaries are poor or otherwise disadvantaged and without our help they would likely drop out after their schooling and get married in their early  age of  Six. Some are continuing their technical Course and few young girls have completed their technical studies on fashion designing .Many including Mr Susheel  Babulal Kasdekar is doing Hotel Management course with our financial support from Pune.

SUPPORT CLASSES
SKILL UPGRADATION TRAINING PROGRAMMES : Institutionalized and Village Based

We conduct support classes in many tribal villages like Kalpi & Ukkupatti villages under Jeevan Vikas Sanstha, Parathwada is going on well. We have children’s clubs and we undertook different activities like essay competitions, drawing competitions, cultural items, sports etc. which enhance the growth of children. The winners were awarded. Children celebrated Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day, Independence Day, Republic Day etc

We have given institutionalized skill up-gradation training to many students from 17 villages (Pottilava, Dharni, Uttavali,  Didamda, Duni,  Bulori, Kakarmal, Chippoli, Kasaikheda, Kusumkot, Pattiya, Kota, Kadav, Pohra, Tingria, Diya, Gutti ) and We could provide  29 tailoring machines to 29 trainees.  The programme given in the centre includes Tailoring, embroidery, housekeeping, doll making, food preparation, health & hygiene, candle making, mehndi designing, beautician and they were encouraged to take part in different cultural programmes. Village-based skill up-gradation was organized in the village Baspani which included tailoring and embroidery.

With support from Manos Unidas, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Amravati & individual benefactor, DSC trained 96 youth for cutting & tailoring. These young girls started their own centres and achieve a sustainable source of income and living support
